Aaron Straub Earns 900th Career Win

On January 16th, Aaron Straub became just the 5th coach in Pennsylvania history to notch 900 career wins. Straub’s Elk County Catholic basketball team defeated Otto-Eldred 53-45 for the historic victory. Coach Straub has spent 39 years at the helm of Elk Country Catholic Boys’ Basketball program. He also spent two years as the Girls’ Basketball Coach from 1980-81, winning 27 games in two years. Aaron Straub is currently the District IX Chairman and has spent three years as a member of the PIAA Board of Directors. Congratulations Coach Straub on this historic win!

The impact of covid-19

     It is the best of times and it is the worst of times. The good news is we get to spend extra time with out loved ones and enjoy the little things in life without the chaotic rush that we call live. However, we are at home with no to little sports to watch on tv and an unsure look as what’s to come. Will there be Fall sports and if there depending on those decisions will there be Winter sports? If so, will they start one time? What does the training and pre-season look like? If no season, what does that mean for the student-athletes?
